About the practice

Is Dr. Bhavya Rathore a female gynecologist?

Yes. Dr. Bhavya Rathore is a female obstetrician and gynecologist practising in Indirapuram, Ghaziabad.

Where does Dr. Rathore consult and deliver?

When should I schedule my first pregnancy visit?

As soon as a home pregnancy test is positive — ideally by 6–8 weeks. Early consultation confirms the pregnancy, dates it accurately and starts the screening schedule.

Do you treat menstrual and hormonal problems, not just pregnancy?

Yes. Irregular, heavy or painful periods, PCOS, fibroids, ovarian cysts, endometriosis, infections, menopause and adolescent concerns are a large part of the practice.

How do I book an appointment?

Call or WhatsApp +91 99538 11238, or send a request through the appointment page. The clinic confirms the slot by phone or WhatsApp.

Which areas do patients come from?

Mostly Indirapuram (all Khands and Shipra Suncity) and neighbouring Vaishali, Vasundhara, Kaushambi, Siddharth Vihar, Crossings Republik and Raj Nagar Extension.

Appointments

How quickly can I get an appointment?

Same-week appointments are usually available. Urgent concerns — bleeding in pregnancy, severe pain — are seen the same day where possible; please call rather than use the form.

Do I need a referral?

No. You can book directly.

What are the consultation timings?

Mon – Sat · 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM. Timings may vary on hospital OPD days — please call or WhatsApp before visiting.

Can my husband or a family member come with me?

Yes, companions are welcome in the consultation, and at the delivery as per hospital policy.

Is online / video consultation available?

Follow-up discussions can sometimes be done by phone or video for established patients. First visits, pregnancy checks and examinations require an in-person visit. Please ask when booking.

What is the consultation fee?

Please call or WhatsApp the clinic for current consultation fees. Hospital procedure costs are provided by Cloudnine Hospital with an estimate before admission.

Pregnancy

How many antenatal visits will I need?

A typical low-risk pregnancy involves 10–14 visits spread across nine months, with more frequent visits in the third trimester. High-risk pregnancies are monitored more closely.

Which scans are done during pregnancy?

Usually a dating scan (6–9 weeks), NT scan (11–13 weeks), anomaly scan (18–22 weeks) and growth scans in the third trimester. Additional scans are advised only when clinically needed.

Can I continue working and exercising?

In most pregnancies, yes. Moderate activity such as walking and prenatal yoga is encouraged unless Dr. Rathore advises otherwise for a specific reason.

Where will my delivery take place?

Dr. Rathore delivers at Cloudnine Hospital, Indirapuram, a dedicated maternity hospital with NICU support.

Is painless delivery safe for the baby?

Epidural analgesia is widely used and considered safe for both mother and baby when given by an anaesthetist in a hospital setting. Dr. Rathore will discuss its benefits and limitations with you.

Can I have a normal delivery if my baby is large?

Often yes. The decision depends on the estimated weight, your pelvis, the progress of labour and any other risk factors.

Does a high-risk label mean I will need a caesarean?

No. Many high-risk pregnancies still deliver normally. The mode of delivery is decided on the specific situation as the pregnancy progresses, and discussed with you well in advance.

I had two miscarriages earlier. Should I see a doctor before trying again?

Yes. A preconception visit allows evaluation for treatable causes and a plan for early support in the next pregnancy.

Periods & hormones

What is the difference between PCOS and PCOD?

They are commonly used interchangeably in India. PCOS (syndrome) is the medically accepted term describing the hormonal condition; 'PCOD' usually refers to the ultrasound finding of multiple small follicles. Not everyone with polycystic ovaries on a scan has PCOS.

Can PCOS be cured?

PCOS is a long-term condition, but its symptoms — irregular periods, acne, infertility — can be controlled very effectively, often to the point of being unnoticeable.

Will I be able to get pregnant with PCOS?

Most women with PCOS conceive, many with lifestyle changes alone and others with ovulation-inducing medication.

Do I have to take birth-control pills?

Not necessarily. Pills are one option for cycle regulation and symptom control; the choice depends on your goals, age and preferences.

Is it normal to skip a period occasionally?

An occasional late or missed period due to stress, travel or illness is common. Persistent irregularity over three or more cycles should be evaluated.

Can irregular periods affect fertility?

Irregular cycles usually signal irregular ovulation, which makes conception less predictable. It is often correctable.

Are heavy periods dangerous?

Heavy periods can cause iron-deficiency anaemia and, rarely, indicate a significant underlying problem. They deserve evaluation, especially after 40.

Fertility

Do we need IVF straight away?

Usually not. Most couples are first offered simpler options — cycle correction, ovulation induction or IUI — unless tests show a clear reason to go directly to IVF (for example, blocked tubes or severe male factor).

How many IUI cycles are reasonable?

Typically three to four well-timed cycles. If unsuccessful, the plan is reviewed rather than repeated indefinitely.

Does PCOS mean I cannot conceive?

No. PCOS is one of the most treatable causes of infertility; many women conceive with weight management and ovulation induction.

Is the male partner tested too?

Yes — a semen analysis is one of the first and most informative tests.

Is IUI painful?

Most women describe it as similar to a Pap smear — brief and mildly uncomfortable. No anaesthesia is needed.

What is the success rate of IUI?

Around 10–20% per cycle, higher in younger women with ovulation disorders and lower with age or male factor. Cumulative success over 3–4 cycles is meaningfully higher.

Surgery

Is laparoscopy safe?

Laparoscopy is a well-established, safe approach with lower complication rates than open surgery for most gynecological conditions. As with any surgery, risks exist and are discussed in detail before consent.

How long is the recovery?

Most patients go home within 24 hours and return to desk work in about a week. Strenuous activity is resumed after two to four weeks depending on the procedure.

Can every gynecological surgery be done laparoscopically?

Most can. Very large fibroids, suspected cancer or extensive adhesions may need an open approach — this is assessed individually.

Can fibroids turn into cancer?

Fibroids are benign. The rare cancerous growth of the uterine muscle (leiomyosarcoma) is not believed to arise from fibroids. Rapid growth after menopause should be evaluated.

Will fibroids affect my pregnancy?

Most women with fibroids have normal pregnancies. Large or cavity-distorting fibroids can raise the risk of miscarriage, breech position or bleeding, which is why they are assessed before and during pregnancy.

Menopause & screening

Is hormone replacement therapy safe?

For most healthy women under 60 or within 10 years of menopause, the benefits of MHT for symptoms and bone health outweigh the risks. It is not suitable for everyone — for example, after certain cancers or clots — which is why an individual assessment is essential.

How long do menopause symptoms last?

Hot flushes last an average of 4–7 years, longer in some women. Vaginal symptoms tend to persist without treatment.

Do I still need Pap smears after menopause?

Cervical screening usually continues until around age 65, depending on your previous results.

Does an abnormal Pap smear mean cancer?

Almost never. Most abnormalities are minor changes that resolve on their own or pre-cancerous changes that are easily treated.

Can I have a Pap smear during pregnancy?

Yes, it is safe and often done at the first antenatal visit if screening is due.

Is HPV vaccination useful after 26?

The vaccine is most effective before exposure to HPV, but it can still offer protection up to age 45. Discuss your situation with Dr. Rathore.
